Reconnection of Service and Transfer of Account for Electricity, Water and Municipality Rates

 When you move to a new building you have to refer to the Customer Service Directorate in the Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) for reconnection of service or transfer of the account in your name for the purpose of issuing the Bill in your name.

Requirements of applications for all kinds of Services:

  • Customer Account Number.
  • Filling of the Agreement form of electricity, water and municipality rates.
  • Original valid CPR and a copy thereof for both sides.
  • Copy of commercial register CR. for buildings and constructions other than domestic.
  • Copy of ownership certificate for new owners, if not already registered at the EWA system.

For the applications of all lessees, individuals and Establishments, the following requirements are to be added:

  • Deposit of an amount (to be specified by the Authority (EWA), not less than B.D 100) as  Refundable Security Deposit, or presenting of a guarantor who has a valid account with the Authority and qualifying for the account guarantee general terms and conditions.
